This tiny silver sculpture depicting the noble Moche warrior with his helmet, back flap, and mace has been hand cast in solid 925 silver by artisans in Peru. The detailed piece is designed to slot neatly onto our hand made leather straps with solid sterling silver buckle. See ‘Additional Information’ below for dimensions.
STORY: The Moche warriors were frequently depicted in Moche art and regarded as one of the most important and noble figures in Moche society. The combat illustrated in artistic narratives appears to be ceremonial rather than militaristic. The stories shown were about the expression of individual valour, in which the warriors engaged in one-on-one combat usually fighting in inter-valley rivalries in disputes over agricultural land. They wore head- dresses, a protective back flap, and carried clubs which were employed during warfare and ceremonies.NB: The price above is for the solid silver bead only.
